With the acceleration of global electrification transformation, the power battery arms race of 2021 international automobile enterprises is becoming increasingly fierce. The global power battery enterprises are on the verge of a hand-to-hand battle.
From the perspective of vehicle end, 2021-2023 is a period of intensive launch of electric vehicles by foreign-funded vehicle enterprises. Through long-term single, fixed-point projects, joint ventures, shares and other diversified forms, locking in the future market share has become an important competitive point for global power battery enterprises at the present stage.
Different from 2020, the cooperation between domestic battery enterprises and international automobile enterprises will enter the landing stage in 2021. For example, Ningde times renewed its 4-year contract with Tesla, GuoXuan will develop the first generation standard cell for VW's conventional mass production models, Wanxiang 123 will supply VW in the next two years, after brilliance BMW, Yiwei 48V system will be designated by BMW Group, Yuanjing power signed an order of 40 ~ 120gwh with Renault in five years, and honeycomb won a global cooperation project with stellantis worth 16 billion yuan.
On the battery side, global auto giants are increasingly demanding high-quality battery capacity based on supply chain capacity. The head battery companies are "running" to expand production, competing to start an arms race in capacity.
Including Ningde times, Yuanjing power, Funeng technology, honeycomb energy, BYD, AVIC lithium, etc., six companies have established or started to build factories in Europe to promote the globalization of China's lithium battery materials and equipment, and strengthen China's power battery global service capacity.
By 2025, it is expected that the capacity of Ningde times will be increased to 550gwh (including joint venture), the capacity of AVIC lithium is planned to be 300gwh, and the capacity of honeycomb energy is planned to be 200gwh; GuoXuan high tech plans to achieve an annual capacity of 80gwh in 2023; BYD is expected to have a total capacity of 100GWh in 2022, including blade batteries.
